Pen is Mightier Than Sword

A famous Japanese writer, Yukio Mishima already predicted how Japan would be 40 years ago.

“Japan will disappear; it will become inorganic, empty, neutral-tinted; it will be wealthy and astute; it will remain only as a giant economic power in a corner of the Far East”

The current Japanese situation is worse than he expected since Japan is no longer the 2nd strongest economic contry in the world. 40 years ago in Japan, the young debated ideologies, but the both of them had the same concern which was Japan. They just wanted to make Japan better.

Different opinions or ideas are a proof of our freedam of speech.

" The pen is mightier than the sword."

Uncle Boonmee

A friend of mine gave me DVDs and One of them was Uncle Boonmee. It won the Cannes Palme D'or in 2010.

It is my first time to watch such a artistic movie with deep messeges in ages. It's mostly fantasy till the end.

Unless you know views of Thai religion and culture, it's beyond you. Although I studied some of them but many scenes are out of my head.

The main subject is reincarnation.
You may not have been a human in your past life. You will not perhaps be a human in your future life. Therefore, you need to live in  your present life with no regret and you need to accept the end of your life...

I realized it watching Uncle Boonmee.

Indulgence

A weird look famous Japanese writer was asked about "affair" on Twitter and he tweeted back like this.

"Before having such a relationship, I was stupidly longing for it. While having it, I was irresponsible and indulged in it. After having it, I beautificate it that I was serioud and I regret to have gotten hurt deeply."

I can't believe he can be so poetic. He is not just a drag queen.

Milky Way

Amanogawa by Skoop On Somebody

Tanabata(An old Japanese tale)
A girl, Orihime wove beautiful clothes by the bank of the Amanogawa (Milky Way). Her father loved the cloth that she wove and so she worked very hard every day to weave it. However, Orihime was sad that because of her hard work she could never meet and fall in love with anyone. Concerned about his daughter, her father arranged for her to meet a boy, Hikoboshi who lived and worked on the other side of the Amanogawa. When the two met, they fell instantly in love with each other and married shortly thereafter. However, once married, Orihime no longer would weave cloth for her father and Hikoboshi allowed his cows to stray all over Heaven. In anger, her father separated the two lovers across the Amanogawa and forbade them to meet. Orihime became despondent at the loss of her husband and asked her father to let them meet again. Her father was moved by his daughter’s tears and allowed the two to meet on the 7th day of the 7th month if she worked hard and finished her weaving. The first time they tried to meet, however, they found that they could not cross the river because there was no bridge. Orihime cried so much that a flock of magpies came and promised to make a bridge with their wings so that she could cross the river. It is said that if it rains on Tanabata, the magpies cannot come and the two lovers must wait until another year to meet...

Apocalypto

It's said that the human extinction would occur in 2012, but it was merely a rumor. Apocalypto is about Mayan civilization. Apparently Mel Gibson copied so much from The naked prey by Cornel Wilde, which disappointed me. I thought Apocalypse was a good movie.
