Like A War Buddy

久しぶりにある友人と話した。
NYに引っ越してから、最初に出来た男友達Mだ。
見た目は穏やかだが、男らしく律儀なやつである。

彼とは戦友みたいなもので、
白人のお姉ちゃんをゲットするために、よく一緒に行動をした。
「アジア人はモテない。」
噂などではなく、真実である。
Mと僕は戦争に勝って、白人の彼女を手に入れた。
Mは3年ほど同棲した彼女がいたが、去年別れた。
僕は既にNYを離れていて、
彼の寂しさ紛らわしに、一緒に酒を飲んであげられなかったことが
悔やまれる。

Mは相変わらず仕事に打ち込み、
売れっ子空間デザイナーとして、NYでがんばっているようだ。

いつか家を建てた時は、
フランクロイドライトの落水荘のようなデザインを、
彼に考えてもらおう。

互いに英語・恋愛・勉学に苦しみ、
二人で酔っ払って、NYで口ずさんだこの曲が、
今夜は無性に聞きたくなった。

It's been for ages since the last time I talked to this friend. He is "M" who is my first guy friend after I moved to NY. He is looks calm, but he is manly and has a strong sense of reciprocity

We went through struggling studying English, having relationships and learning academy together. I'm in the mood for listening to this song that we were drunk and humming one night.
